Heard Yesterday: “Hey Dmac, what are you going to do with all those pictures you’re taking at the gym?”
Great question. By now you’ve probably noticed me or another coach snapping away while WODs are going on. We’ll be setting up a system, the bare bones of which are in place and the final results you’ve seen, to improve the images coming out of the gym. Eventually it’ll work like this: Everyday pictures every picture will be uploaded to an online account (Picasso or Flickr), at the end of the week(ish) we’ll choose the ‘best’ pictures to post on Facebook and tag you in.
Every image posted isn’t code. Blurry, weird, basically bad pictures where your arms are bent early and your hair is a mess and you basically look crazy will be posted with every other picture from the day – BUT – on a site that you won’t be tagged on. So they’ll be out there with creative file names like “R11_01254.jpg”.
Why bother with this system. First, it’ll get you kick ass facebook material. I’m talking profile pics. Tagged photos with 50+ likes. Comments like “WOW!” and “LULZ”. More importantly it’ll help coach movement. Almost exclusively I’m shooting on sport mode taking a series of pictures of you moving. This means that sometimes the pictures are crap with your blurry head cut off but they show different positions of you moving. When you look through them you’ll start to be able to see things about how you and others are moving and this will help. Some of you have already been coached with the camera on OLY lifting.
So stay tuned cause this system is coming. You don’t have to do anything but keep striving for PERFECT EFFICIENT movement with EVERY Rep.
