The Bombshell was dropped last night and that loud noise you heard was a THUD. Open WOD 14.1 is a repeat of WOD 11.1. I’ve done this WOD at least 5 times and it all comes down to 3 elements:
– Grip – You’ve got to warm up your forearms prior to doing this workout.
– Gas – Because of the light weight you’ll constanly be thinking – “Hey, I’m back on the Snatches (or Double Unders) again!”
– Back – Watch the 5th and 6th Rounds of Garrett Fisher, see his legs staying straight and his low back rounding everytime the bar returns to the floor? #MyBackIsOnFire. You’ve got to make sure you’re deadlifting with your legs. As soon as the bar passes below your knees your back angle is set and you drive up and down with your legs.
