Beginner’s Classes start TODAY! at 7A and 6:30P. Come get your journey started!
This weekend Audi won The 24 Hours of Le Mans for the 13th time (14 if you count the year that Bentley, which is owned by Audi won it). It got me to thinking, what makes a person or team fight year after year after year at the same thing?
After so many wins, beaten only by Porsche which has 16 wins, it’s not about the end. The JOURNEY is the reward. The joy comes in the effort – not the result.
At Le Mans the race is run for time. It lasts a full day. And at the end everyone is happy to have finished, to have taken part, to have risen to the challenge and given it their full and honest effort.
CrossFit is like this. Most of us won’t go to the Games. We might never get a muscle up or win the whiteboard. But we can be happy with the EFFORT we’ve given. We can be happy that we did things smartly. We rested when we needed, ate how we needed, practiced the right amount.
And at the end of the years of CrossFit we might finally come to realize that the FUN of it, the purpose, was in the doing. It’s in the EFFORT that we summon each day to do the things necessary to get better. Weight loss, strength gains, improved health and well-being, these are all just side-effects of the only thing that really matters: Your Effort.
