Why MTM CrossFit

Why choose MTM CrossFit over a traditional globo gym, or a different CrossFit affiliate?

The following features are what set us apart from any other fitness facility, both CrossFit affiliates and otherwise.



MTM CrossFit is the oldest and most experienced CrossFit Affiliate in Stark County. With more than 3 years of running classes day-in and day-out we don’t guess what works. We know what does through the years of actual experience.


A place that gives people the type of success that MTM CrossFit gives its members doesn’t happen by accident. It takes thousands and thousands of hours to develop and refine every detail that goes into helping you reach your goals. We’ve done that work already.

When you walk into MTM CrossFit you know that we’ve seen every type of athlete before: Collegiate athletes to morbidly obese grandmothers and everyone in between. We’ve worked with athletes recovering from ACL repairs. We’ve already been successful with athletes looking to lose weight, tone up, build muscle, increase their sporting capacity. You name it, we’ve seen it.

Those personal experiences are invaluable. There’s no other way to get that experience. You have to do it. At MTM we’ve seen it, worked it, developed it, and had success already.

Beginner’s Classes


We are not a group exercise class or a boot camp facility. Prior to graduating to group classes, you will complete a week of beginner’s sessions that will properly prepare you for the demands of group classes.

Learning movements that are required for improved fitness takes time. Movements like squats, snatches and pull-ups require a close coaching eye, as does improving your mobility, your endurance, your speed and your power.

We used to throw people into group classes right away, but with our 3+ years of experience we found this to be a recipe for failure. Members weren’t prepared; they didn’t move well; they didn’t understand their capabilities; they over-trained; they got injured. Or they were simply too intimidated to even show up to a class.

Improving your fitness is a slow process. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses when they show up at our doors. Some members struggle with mobility, others with stability, others yet come to us two months after having knee surgery and need to be tended with care. And on the other end of the spectrum, some athletes arrive at our door well conditioned with an extensive athletic background.

The point is we all have different needs when we start a new strength and conditioning program. It doesn’t make sense to throw you right into classes before you have properly learned the movements. So at our Crossfit, by the time you graduate to classes, you’ll have a good understanding of 30-40 movements, and you will know exactly how to scale each movement if you’re not yet able to master everything.

By the time you get to classes you will feel confident and comfortable showing up to hit the workout with the group.


We offer classes morning, noon, and night on weekdays. And we’re open on both Saturdays and Sundays, too. We offer more classes than any other CrossFit affiliate in the area.


We know you have a busy and hectic schedule, and since we have more coaches and apprentice coaches than any other CrossFit facility, we have the ability to put offer more classes than other facilities.

But more than this:, our coaches rotate a schedule that keeps them fresh, engaged, and enthusiastic. This means that you will not be coached by a tired, burnt out coach at 8 pm. Our coaches work a manageable 20 to 30 hours a week, so they have plenty of energy to give to each member and each class.



We don’t just offer personal training and group classes. We offer both seasonal and ongoing specialty programs for members who are looking to work on their weaknesses, or for members who just want to mix it up a bit.

MTM Barbell Club – Our facility is the only Affiliate in the area that provides an Olympic Lifting and Powerlifting focus that doesn’t interrupt group workouts. WIth our auxiliary space we run programs specifically designed for individual athletes to reach their goals.

MTM Open Gyms – Every member has the opportunity to practice, mobilize, and train during our open gym times. Also set up so as not to disturb the group workouts our multiple open gym times each day give you the opportunity to get better, faster.

MTM Fitness – Our sister gym in Jackson Twp has a slew of offerings at discounted rates to MTM CrossFit members. Personal Training, Sports Training, Mobility and Balance, Women’s-only Lifting Class, Bootcamps and more are available to help you reach your goals. MTM is the only Affiliate to have the flexibility to workout at multiple locations around Stark County.


Our specialty programs help members tackle their weaknesses, and they simply provide more options for experienced members who want to try something new.


The strength in our CrossFit lies in our community. From BBQs to Hallowe’en parties to fitness competitions, our members are more than just fitness junkies. We work hard and know how to have a good time too.


Fitness is something that should make your life better; it’s not something we think should dominate your life. We believe it’s important to be well-rounded people who know how to let loose, have a drink and socialize with friends.

And, we have learned that members who are engaged in the community are more likely to want to show up to the CrossFit to workout – because they show up not just to workout, but also to enjoy themselves socially.
